Visa has appointed JPMorgan Chase executive Ryan McInerney as its new president.

McInerney will be responsible for Visa’s global client organisation, product management and a new solutions group, which will focus on building new products and services to Visa’s issuer, acquirer and merchant clients.

Having previously served as the JPMorgan Chase chief executive of consumer banking, McInerney will report directly to Visa chief executive Charlie Scharf. McInerney replaces John Partridge, who announced his retirement in December last year after serving in various roles for Visa for 13 years.

Chief executive Charles Scharf, has previously worked with McInerney as a JPMorgan executive.

Visa also appointed Elizabeth Buse as its first head of global solutions, where she will lead CyberSource, merchant sales and merchant solutions function build-out. Bill Sheedy will lead corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions and government relations for Visa.
