US-based Spindle, a mobile commerce company has signed an agreement with Canada-based vending machine manufacturer Signifi.

Under the terms of the agreement, Spindle’s MeNetwork mobile wallet payment system will be incorporated into Signifi’s ‘SpotShops’ vending machines.

Thanks to the integration of the MeNetwork mobile wallet functionality, customers will have the chance to pay for purchases at the ‘SpotShops’ vending kiosks using their smartphones.

The range of products available to be rented or purchased include DVDs, video games, Apple-licensed products, upscale clothing, accessories and other items and the kiosks will be situated in well-trafficked areas, like airports and shopping plazas.

The automated kiosks will accept transactions via Visa, MasterCard and American Express, all of which can be paid through the mobile wallet.

The agreement follows the one signed early in January by Spindle to offer its MeNetwork mobile marketing service to customers of Offwire, a US distributor of wireless systems and accessories.
