Online cash payments company Ukash
is encouraging Mexican consumers to steer away from their
cash-orientated economy and embrace electronic payments though the
launch of its vouchers in the country.

Customers in Mexico will be able to
purchase and use Ukash vouchers online through deals forged with
electronic payment processor Mercadotecnia, Ideas y Tecnología
(MIT) and Citadel Commerce, a payment processing solutions
provider.

Under the terms of the agreement
with MIT consumers will be able to purchase Ukash vouchers issued
at point of sale from nearly 400 convenience stores that provide
mobile airtime and other payment services through the Compra y Paga
brand.

The vouchers will be available in
denominations of MXN200 and MXN500 ($16 and $40).

Mexican consumers can also obtain
Ukash vouchers online by visiting the Citadel payment page and
selecting a voucher from MXN150 to MXN1,500.

Users can then access their
internet banking service and receive their voucher by email. The
vouchers can then be spent online wherever Ukash is accepted.
