Under the partnership, HDBank customers will be able to access TerraPay’s payout network spanning more than 156 countries and territories.
HDBank will leverage its existing Swift connectivity to offer the service. TerraPay said this approach reduces the need for “significant capital expenditure, technology upgrades, or complex integrations”.
Customers will continue to initiate international payments through HDBank’s existing channels, while TerraPay will manage delivery to overseas bank accounts and digital wallets.
The partnership is positioned around HDBank’s retail and SME customer base, enabling outbound payments and faster transfers to overseas suppliers, partners, and beneficiaries.
TerraPay co-founder and chief business officer Ani Sane said: “Banks like HDBank sit at the heart of how a country transacts with the world, and correspondent banking was never built for the speed today’s outbound payment demand requires.
“This partnership gives HDBank a direct route to global reach through infrastructure they already trust, so they can bring new capabilities to market faster and without disruption.”
According to TerraPay, Vietnam’s outward remittance market was valued at about $275m in 2025. It is expected to to reach $346m by 2030, representing a CAGR of 4.69%.
TerraPay is headquartered in London and has offices in Dubai, Milan, Miami, Singapore, Bogota, Johannesburg, Kampala, and Bangalore.
