Turkey-based Türk Ekonomi Bankasi (TEB) has adopted Visa Europe’s Host Card Emulation (HCE) technology to launch mobile contactless payment services in the country.

The service will enable customers to make contactless payments securely using a tokenization platform launched by Visa Europe.

The HCE payment service allows the bank’s customers to make Visa contactless payments across more than 2.4 million contactless terminals.

HCE will enable users to execute contactless transactions using card data stored in the cloud rather than on the device.

TEB senior assistant general manager for retail and private banking Gökhan Mendi told bankingtech.com: "We aim to pioneer payment innovation and we are proud to be working with Visa Europe to create a cloud-based contactless mobile payment infrastructure for our customers."
