Airline TAP Portugal has signed an agreement with mobile payment firm Yapital Financial solution under which the payment firm will offer mobile payment to the airline’s customers from the third quarter of 2015 onwards.

TAP will enable paying by smartphone on its online booking systems in Germany, Luxembourg and Austria.

All ticket purchases will be listed directly in a transaction overview inside the Yapital app.

TAP vice president commercial Carlos Paneiro said: "Integrating Yapital underlines the importance of mobile features and allows us to offer our travellers convenient, secure and easy-to-use mobile payment."

Yapital head of international sales Neil Scoble said: "Yapital is very pleased to be able to offer our cross-channel payment solution to TAP: a world-class, award-wining airline, known for embracing new technologies to enhance their travellers´ experience.
