Viseca Card Services, a Switzerland-based credit card and debit card issuer, has introduced support for Samsung Pay.

The move will enable all Viseca cardholders to use Samsung Pay in making contactless payments at NFC-enabled stores.

The company noted that the customers can use the new offering with a debit card. Customers who have a Debit Mastercard and Mastercard Flex from Viseca can use Samsung Pay, where all payments will be directly debited from their respective bank accounts.

Viseca Card Services chief marketing officer Roland Zwyssig said: “With the advent of smartphones and wearables and the growth of online commerce, the need for new payment solutions has risen sharply.

“Viseca invested in digitisation and innovative payment solutions at an early stage and was thus able to assume a leading position in Switzerland.

“In our opinion, the support of Samsung Pay is therefore the logical consequence of our digitisation strategy, which is geared to our customers’ needs. Further partnerships will follow.”

The latest move also expands mobile payment solution choices for the Viseca customers. Apart from Samsung Pay, Viseca cardholders can also pay for their purchases with Fitbit Pay, Garmin Pay, SwatchPAY! and it’s One Mobile Pay.

Samsung Pay will work with all Visa and Mastercard payment cards issued by Viseca.

Samsung Switzerland country manager Dario Casari said: “The partnership with Viseca will enable more than one million additional customers to benefit from our mobile payment solution.

“This means that Samsung Pay now covers around three quarters of all credit and prepaid cards in Switzerland.”

In April this year, Prepaid Financial Services (PFS) introduced Samsung Pay for PCS prepaid cardholders in France. The PCS cardholders can use Samsung Pay on their Samsung smartphones to complete their in-store purchases.
