Starbucks Coffee Company has partnered with Chase to introduce a co-branded Visa credit card that is designed to allow customers to earn reward points both in and out of its stores.

Tied to the coffee company’s rewards loyalty programme, the Starbucks Rewards Visa Card can be used to purchase food and beverages at more than 8,000 participating Starbucks.

While a digital card will be integrated into the Starbucks mobile app for instant use, the firm will also provide a physical card.

Cardmembers will be eligible for various benefits such as 2,500 Stars upon spending $500 during the initial three months, Gold Status within the Rewards programme and curated food or beverage Rewards.

Starbucks executive vice-president and chief strategy officer Matt Ryan said: “It’s important to us to make earning Rewards as easy for our customers as possible, and the Starbucks Rewards Visa Card is a powerful tool for us to do that because of how easily it fits into their daily lives.

“This credit card also makes every day more rewarding for Starbucks and Chase customers through the ability to quickly earn Stars and benefits – including more food and beverage Rewards for any occasion.”
