Payment processing company Square has unveiled Square Register, a new point-of-sale (POS) system for large businesses.
Built in-house, the new offering integrates hardware, software, and payments. Unlike the company’s existing products, the new offering doesn’t need an app or a third-party tablet.
It features two displays, one for client and one for the merchant. The product is priced at $999 or $49 per month for 24 months.
The company noted that its service doesn’t require any service contracts, there are no hidden fees. It has a fixed transaction fee of 2.5% plus 0.10 per transaction. Merchants will receive money in one business day.
The company added that the offering will also helps larger merchant with functions like managing big inventories and employees. The new device also features automatic updates.
More than 50 retailers including Goa Taco, Cafe Grumpy and Best Beverage Catering are currently using Square Register, the company revealed.
