Slovak Telekom has unveiled a new multi-purpose NFC mobile wallet service to allow customers use the services of a physical wallet through smartphone.
The new MyWallet service will allow banks and other operators to issue and manage the life cycle of cards remotely without the need of customers visiting a branch or change the SIM after the expiry of the card.
Going forward, the mobile digital wallet will also be upgraded to store and use other cards such as loyalty cards retail chains, discount coupons for products or services, access cards for buildings, tickets to events or transportation card.
According to Slovak Telekom, the service will be initially available through the MyWallet app for select customers with NFC compatible Android mobile phone.
Slovak Telekom said that it will launch a beta production facility under beta testing with selected customers to support the contactless payments over MyWallet.
The first credit card available in MyWallet mobile wallet is MyWallet Card, which is a rechargeable prepaid MasterCard debit card. The card is provided by ClickandBuy, a sister company of Slovak Telekom.
