Semble has introduced a new mobile wallet app that enables secure contactless payments with a smartphone in New Zealand.
The free-to-download app, together with a Semble Ready SIM card, which includes a chip, enables users to hold their smartphone over any contactless terminal to perform a transaction.
Card payment company Snapper has joined Semble as a new partner to provide its cardholders the ability to use their Android smartphones instead of their Snapper cards from June this year.
In addition, Semble plans to start an active trial testing special offers next month for redemption at point of sale using the Semble app, initially with New Zealand gourmet burger brand, BurgerFuel.
Semble CEO Rob Ellis said: "Semble is a tremendous achievement for New Zealand. We have produced a mobile wallet that can cater for a wide range of services and what we are launching today with payments is just the beginning.
"We look forward to welcoming many more service providers to the Semble marketplace, including more banks as well as loyalty cards, public transport cards, ticketing, offers, vouchers and much more."
