In a statement, Samsung said the Samsung Galaxy Card is designed to offer cash rewards on “everyday purchases”, with higher reward rates for eligible spending made directly with the company.

The card is available to “eligible early access customers”. Applications are due to open to the general public tomorrow (22 July).

Samsung Electronics Mobile eXperience (MX) Business EVP and Digital Wallet Team head Woncheol Chai said: “For years, users have relied on Samsung products to enhance their daily life — from staying connected with friends, to relaxation, to productivity. Today, Samsung Galaxy Card offers users a new way to be rewarded every time you pay.

“Users are busy, they need a credit card that simplifies their life and offers them real value — Samsung Galaxy Card does both.”

The company added that Samsung Galaxy Card integrates with Samsung Wallet, enabling users to store the card alongside other compatible cards, IDs, passes, and digital keys.

In terms of rewards, Samsung said cardholders can earn 5% cash rewards on eligible purchases made directly with Samsung and 3% cash rewards on purchases made with Samsung Wallet. The card also offers cash rewards on streaming services and other purchases.

Visa North America Enablers, Merchants and Fintechs head and SVP Kirk Stuart said: “Consumers expect payments to be embedded into the digital experiences they use every day.
