JCB International (JCBI), the international operations subsidiary of JCB, has inked a merchant acquiring services agreement with Peruvian acquiring and processing firm Procesos Medios.

Under the terms of the contract, JCB cards will be accepted at more than 70,000 Procesos merchants across Peru.

Since 2003, JCBI has been building a merchant acceptance network in Peru to facilitate card use for the three million visitors drawn by Peru's 12 World Heritage Sites.

Besides strengthening JCB brand card acceptance in Peru, the collaboration will provide Procesos with the means to bring more business opportunities to its 70,000 merchant partners.

JCBI deputy president Kimihisa Imada said: “Peru is one of the most important markets for JCB's global business expansion and we are pleased to welcome our new partner to the JCB network.
