PayPal has launched an online store to offer digital gift cards in Australia.
The cards are set as an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic products.

The move comes after the PayPal conducted a study to gain better insights into the preferences of Australian customers.
The survey found that up to 140 tonnes of plastic is wasted on gift cards in the country each year. In addition, 34% of the consumers admitted to having purchased a plastic gift card due to lack of an equivalent digital option.
While 63% of Australians prefer digital gift cards for their convenience, 47% want them as they are less likely to be lost.
PayPal Australia resident shopping expert Emily Curlewis said: “However, it is clear that Australians are becoming more environmentally conscious, and this is now translating to their shopping and gift-giving experiences.
