P97 Networks has joined forces with Transaction Network Services (TNS) to offer secure connected vehicle and mobile payments in North America and Europe.

The cloud-based PetroZone platform of P97 connects retail fuel, convenience, consumer packaged goods, and other merchants to their consumers by supporting payments on any device or connected vehicle.

P97 will now be powered by TNS’ managed tokenisation service.

Furthermore, the technology generates tokens for storing consumer payment accounts on file.

The aim is to combat fraud by utilising tokens instead of account details.

P97 vice president of global payments and connected car David Nichamoff said: “Working with TNS enables us to leverage their extensive global footprint and reach virtually any payments-related endpoint.

TNS chief product officer Bill Versen said: “Through our partnership, P97 Networks and TNS provide leading tokenisation services that protect sensitive consumer data.

“P97 also gains access to a host of processing partners through the use of TNS’ secure global managed communications platform.”
