Nedbank has collaborated with Mastercard to provide new digital payment ecosystem for merchants in South Africa. The partners will introduce Qkr! with Masterpass and Nedbank POSplus platforms.
The Qkr! payment service is designed to facilitate ordering and payment of goods and services through a smartphone. This eliminates the need for waiting in a queue at the business location.
Also, consumers will be able to use Qkr! to place an order in advance and collect later. While dining, the platform allows quick order and easy splitting of the restaurant bills.
Qkr! leverages Mastercard’s digital payment service Masterpass , which expedites the checkout process by avoiding the need for repeated entry of financial and shipping details.
The platform comes with a web-based, self-service portal that can be integrated with the retailer’s POS system. Qkr! APIs also enable its incorporation into the merchant mobile apps.
POSplus comprises an updates physical point-of-sale (PoS) device that accepts payment cards issued by Mastercard, Visa and American Express.
