IT service management company PT Visionet Data International has launched a new mPOS payment service, called Mobey, across Indonesia.

The new solution, rolled out in partnership with mPOS solutions provider SmartPesa, is designed for merchants and other financial entities facing infrastructural challenges.

Visionet sales director Miko Yanuar said: “Mobey allows Visionet to expand its offerings to financial institutions by adding managed mPOS and payment services across Indonesia.

“Coupled with SmartPesa’s cutting edge technology and deep knowledge of emerging markets, we are well positioned to provide banks and merchants in Indonesia with next-generation payment and agency banking solutions.”

The Mobey mPOS service will help the banks to expand their network by including around 160 Visionet’s service points across Indonesia.

It will also  enable the merchants to provide card payment services at a much lesser cost than using the EDC terminals.
