MasterCard has announced plans to use artificial intelligence (AI) technology from Norwich-based startup Rainbird to develop a sales advisory tool.
Rainbird, a startup identified by MasterCard’s Start Path programme, will lend its software to capture knowledge and customer conversations from across its entire sales function and encode it into software that learns with time and experience.
MasterCard said that sharing the disparate information across the enterprise will streamline sales processes, as well as help its agents manage leads and close deals with prospects more effectively.
This will boost operational efficiency of its UK sales teams working with banks to offer loyalty schemes and other card benefits.
Rainbird Technologies CEO Ben Taylor said: “Rainbird’s technology can structure sales expertise, knowledge and experience in such a way that it can augment knowledge-sharing and decision-making across all levels of MasterCard’s sales function.
