Mashreq, a UAE-based financial institution, has brought two new advanced safety features to its Card Control service, integrated with its mobile banking app known as Mashreq Snapp.

Claimed to be launched for the first time in the UAE, both the features empower customers to securely manage their mobile banking transactions.

The new features ‘Block by Country’ and ‘Block by Merchant Category’ seek to provide more power to the customer to safeguard the use of their debit and credit cards.

Using the Block by Country feature, customers can block specific countries where the card cannot be used. The Block by Merchant Category helps users to blocks certain categories so that their cards can not be used at merchant categories that are blocked by the users.

Moreover, Mashreq’s Card Control allows customers to lock, block, limit, manage daily purchases and set maximum transaction amount and count on all their cards.

Mashreq head of digital banking and innovation Aref Al Ramli said: “Innovation is a part of Mashreq’s DNA. We constantly strive to provide our customer with enhanced customer experience. The new version of Card Control on Mashreq Snapp is launched based on key customer usage insights and customer feedback.
