Majority of online shoppers preferred credit card, debit card or net banking for payment while shopping during Diwali, according to a survey by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).

The survey, conducted across 15 Indian cities from 30 October to 4 November 2013, received a total of 3,480 responses.

According to the survey, around 59% of respondents used credit card to shop online, while 28% used debit card.

Around 40% of respondents selected cash on delivery as their mode of payment.

Among different products, electronics and accessories were mostly purchased by online shoppers during Diwali.

Almost 31% of online shoppers were from Delhi NCR, while greater Mumbai and Bangalore stood second and third with 22% and 12% of respondents, respectively.
