By Verdict Staff

Japanese messaging app LINE has teamed up with Japanese credit card firm JCB to launch the new LINE Pay Card.

The new prepaid card is linked to LINE Pay accounts of users, and is available without any registration or annual fees.

With the new card, LINE users can earn 2% rewards on purchases as LINE Points.

In addition, users with 1,000 or more points can convert them into part of their LINE Pay balance.

Unlike traditional credit cards, application for a LINE Pay Card does not require a credit screening process or applicant age restrictions. Instead, LINE users can apply for the card from within the Line Pay app.

The card can be used at about 30 million JCB affiliate locations across Japan and abroad.
