KBank taps dzcard to launch new debit card for Thai customers

Thailand-based Kasikornbank (KBank) has partnered with Southeast Asia’s largest smart card manufacturer dzcard.

Under this partnership, KBank will use dzcard’s dual Interface EMV debit card to launch a newly-designed debit card.

KBank is introducing the new debit for Thai customers with active lifestyles, as part of its KBank x BLACKPINK project.

Dubbed KBank x BLACKPINK Black Edition debit card, the new card comes with multiple online spending options and contactless payment via the K PLUS app.

The new card delivers new experience by showcasing extraordinary lifestyles such as dining and shopping through the viewpoint of each artist of the K-Pop Band BLACKPINK.

The debit card offers online shopping privileges including discounts on Shopee, Lazada, Grab, GrabFood, foodpanda and more.

The KBank x BLACKPINK debit card comes in five different card designs: four cards featuring each of the individual artists, and one card featuring the entire group.

dzcard Southeast Asia MD Teerasade Phutthichotiruksa said: “By introducing the KBank x BLACKPINK Black Edition Debit Card, KBank is making an impact on the Thai’s banking card market and is reinforcing its position as a financial service leader in Southeast Asia.

“By trusting dzcard to handle this very strategic project, KBank has given dzcard the opportunity to demonstrate dzcard’s capacity to deal with complex banking projects.

“Working closely with KBank, dzcard has brought the full power of the company’s internal capabilities and resources to develop high-quality products.”
