Ithmaar Bank, a Bahrain-based Islamic retail bank, is introducing a range of new Sharia-compliant MasterCard credit cards.

Developed to meet the specific requirements of Ithmaar customers, the new credit cards include MasterCard Gold, MasterCard Gold Plus and MasterCard Titanium.

All the three new credit cards offer a range of extended features and benefits such as free worldwide Takaful travel insurance and access to over 2.5 million ATMs. The cards are accepted at over 35.9 million outlets around the world.

Additionally, Ithmaar Bank will provide free supplementary cards for family members of the primary cardholder, and offers discounts through MasterCard and free access to select airport lounges for Titanium credit card customers.

Ithmaar Bank retail and private banking general manager, Abdul Hakeem Al Mutawa, said the new suite of credit card solutions were developed in cooperation with MasterCard to meet the specific demands of their customers.

Ithmaar Bank CEO, Ahmed Abdul Rahim, said they continue to invest heavily in developing their products and services while also working to be closer to their customers and this MasterCard launch is a major step.
