Ingenico, global supplier of payment terminals, has been chosen by Crédit Agricole to roll out mobile and contactless payment terminals to its merchant clients.

The terminal chosen by the French banking institute from Ingenico’s catalogue of mobile payment terminals is Iwl250 3G.

Yves Perrachon, Crédit Agricole’s card and payments Director of operations stated: "Combining mobility, availability, usability and security, the iWL250 is the solution we wanted to offer our merchant clients" and also adding that: ""Contactless technology enhances the payment experience and adapts to new types of consumer behaviour."

For Ingenico, David Gebhart, managing director of Ingenico France said: "Our 3G offering met Crédit Agricole’s expectations: it is a solution that goes above and beyond traditional payment scenarios."

Such development follows the launch at the end of last November of G5X, a magnetic stripe mobile card reader which is Visa Ready certified, by US mobile commerce platform provider ROAM Data, an Ingenico subsidiary.
