French payments provider Ingenico Group has partnered with UK-based Paymentsense to roll out a new mobile payment solution for merchants in the UK.

The alliance will enable UK merchants to offer the point of sale directly to their customers with a new payment device.

Under the partnership, Ingenico’s Link/2500 mobile payment device will be connected via Paymentsense’s Connect software.

The payment device can be integrated into retailers’ existing POS systems and will accept contactless, Apple Pay and Google Pay, as well as traditional cards.

Ingenico managing director of Europe, banks and acquirers business unit said: “As the first UK deployment of the Link/2500, the thinnest mobile payment device of its kind, we are confident that as part of Paymentsense’s Connect solution it will help SMEs to access the benefits of integrated payment.”

Paymentsense chief integrated payments officer Baird Kleinsmith added: “We’re excited to have added the Link/2500 to the list of Ingenico devices supported by Connect. Demand for a compact-footprint mobile device is high among our ePOS partners and we are thrilled to be meeting that need through our partnership with Ingenico.”
