Ingenico Group and its UK-based technological partner MYPINPAD have developed a new solution using the PIN on Mobile (PoM) or PIN on Glass (PoG) technology to offer optimised payments for micro-merchants.

The solution includes a secure card reader (SCR) for EMV and contactless bank cards, mobile PIN entry application (MPEA) on merchant’s device and a Trust Service that analyses execution environment of the device in back-end before manual PIN entry to ensure secure transactions.

Ingenico expects that the PIN on Glass technology will increase adoption of mPOS solutions across micro-merchants due to its capability to enhance customer experience without compromising security.

Ingenico Group executive-vice president of Banks & Acquirers business unit, Patrice Le Marre said: “This PIN on Glass solution will perfectly complement existing Ingenico offers.

“It will allow our clients to build disruptive business models and extend card acceptance among micro-merchants, with a solution designed for their specific payment needs.”

The firm has already deployed PIN on Glass into its overall payment process and current infrastructure, and specific card card schemes such as Mastercard are reported have approved its new solution.
