HomeSend, a joint venture between MasterCard, eServGlobal and BICS, has expanded its global framework agreement with Vodafone Group for M-Pesa service.

Under the deal, the companies will launch remittance services in Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Lesotho, Mozambique and Albania in 2016.

HomeSend has already introduced inbound remittances with M-Pesa in Tanzania, Romania as well as Kenya.

HomeSend in a statement revealed that it intends to expand the reach of their network to more than 70 markets in 2016 including 20 new mobile money markets.

HomeSend will offer a way to receive remittances by enabling MasterCard payments cards to be used.

HomeSend CEO Stephen Doyle said: "We are thrilled to expand our work with Vodafone to bring all-important, cost-effective money transfer services to M-Pesa customers in even more countries."
