British technology firm Flyt has made its Pay at Table solution available on Facebook Messenger. The move will enable consumers to make payments via Messenger apps and web.

“This marks the first time this type of payment service will be available via Facebook, and is the first payment enabled chatbot experience on Messenger in Europe, and amongst the first globally, and is available to be embedded within existing branded Facebook Pages and as an extension to existing branded websites,” Flyt said.

The move will allow customers to make bill payments in less than a minute without the requirement of downloading a new app.

According to Flyt, the technology will result in wait time savings of eight minutes for every table.

The technology has already been trialled at Wahaca’s Charlotte Street outlet in the UK utilising the APIs for payment on the Flyt platform.

Harvester and Toby Carvery from the Mitchell’s and Butlers group will be the first to implement the technology.
