Swedish biometrics company Fingerprint Cards (FPC) has entered into a global licensing agreement for biometric software platform with Chinese authentication and security solution firm FEITIAN.

The solution is designed for payment cards as well as access control. The global licensing agreement covers both.

As per the agreement, FEITIAN will also place a bulk order of FPC fingerprint sensors.

Commenting on the agreement, FEITIAN vice president Yan Yan said: “We chose biometric technology from Fingerprints as they have the leading full system solution on the market and a proven cutting-edge biometric performance, which is of the highest importance to both cards and access devices.”

FEITIAN biometric card integrates the company’s touch sensor and biometric software. The solution has been chosen as an innovative design for the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022.

Fingerprints SVP business line payments & access Michel Roig said: “We are pleased to collaborate with FEITIAN and to see our superior biometric sensors and software continuing to gain new ground within the payments and access markets, as there is an increased demand for convenient, secure and trusted biometric solutions.”
