US-based transaction technology provider Entrust Datacard has introduced Datacard MX9100 Card Issuance System, a flat card personalisation platform.

The new offering is launched to enable the company tap the growing popularity of personalised flat cards among consumers.

The MX9100 Card Issuance System can deliver 4,000 cards per hour (CPH). It uses UV-curable printing technology and high-speed laser engraving to produce the personalised cards.

The platform is equipped with Windows 10 Operating System with physical safeguards to comply with the mandated security requirements.

The overall system, according to the company, is highly configurable to enable the operator incorporate new capabilities. It shares a common software platform to reduce associated costs for upgrades, expansion and maintenance.

Also, it reduces wastage by allowing the operator to test and verify a single card before running their entire programme.

Entrust Datacard vice-president of bureau solutions Dan Good said: “Consumers want flat cards because they deliver an elevated look and feel — the format lets marketers differentiate their cards through creative graphics and flexible card layouts.

“The MX9100 System meets these needs, incorporating new technologies to support increased speed, while exceeding the reliability customers have come to expect from our MX Series Systems.”

Operators can purchase the MX9100 System as a standalone card issuance system or in combination with Datacard Card Delivery Systems. It can be used by bank, government agencies and other card issuers.
