Australia-based EML Payments has partnered with Swedish online gaming company Betsson to introduce a branded reloadable winnings card.

Available for customers in Sweden, the new card enables instant transfer of winnings from their gaming account onto the card. Subsequently, this provides immediate access to funds.

The reloadable winnings card is also available to use at all merchants accepting Mastercard.

Betsson will be able to use EML’s processing system to block the use of cards at competitive gambling sites. The company expects the new product to help in customer retention as well as acquiring new customers.

The gaming company operates under the Betsson, NordicBet and Betsafe brands, with nearly 1,800 employees.

Announcing the launch of the new card, EML said: “EML is unable to accurately estimate future Gross Debit Volume (GDV) that will be derived from this programme, nor the pace at which this market will develop, given it is the first programme of its type in Sweden.

Last month, EML Payments USA collaborated with sportsbook operator PointsBet to introduce another reloadable payments card for gamers.

PointsBet card allows loading of funds into gaming account. It facilitates online, in-store, in-app and ATM transactions in real time.

Along with the new cards, EML currently manages 12 branded reloadable prepaid programmes in the gaming industry across Australia, Europe, the UK and the US.
