El Corte Inglés, a Spanish department store, has tapped Gemalto’s Trusted Service Hub (TSH) platform to enable its customers to add their Financiera El Corte Inglés payment cards to Samsung Pay and make contactless payments.
Designed as a turnkey service, the Trusted Service Hub (TSH) empowers banks, enterprises, transport operators, mobile network operators, device makers and others to benefit from a single ‘plug once’ connection to securely deploy mobile payment and other value-added services for end-users across a comprehensive portfolio of smartphones and mobile networks.

TSH offers the entire digitalisation and tokenisation process, while hiding real card credentials to ensure security of sensitive cardholders’ data.
Now, El Corte Ingles cardholders can replace the physical card’s credential with a new digital value known as a token, which is stored on the phone.
Subsequently, users can then pay for goods and services after authenticating transactions immediately and securely using biometrics.
With the latest move, Financiera El Corte Ingles has become the first private label card provider in Spain to adopt Samsung’s mobile wallet. Financera El Corte Inglés operates as the financial services arm of El Corte Inglés Group.
