Doha Bank and MasterCard have inked a long-term agreement to roll out a range of payment solutions including remittance offerings and contactless payments in Qatar.

Under the terms of the agreement, both the partners will provide innovative products to the country’s workforce.

The new initiative backs the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and Qatar Central Bank’s efforts to provide a safe working environment for workers while ensuring wages are electronically transferred to their bank accounts.

Doha Bank group CEO R Seetharaman said: “Our partnership with MasterCard serves to bring the best card products to our growing customer base.

“This partnership is in line with Doha Bank’s overall strategy to bring the utmost value to employers and equally to payroll customers within the entire framework of the Wages Protection System (WPS) implementation.”

Doha Bank head of retail Gul Khan said: “Our main objective is to deliver access, convenience and great value, and our partnership with MasterCard will bring synergy in addressing the growing demand for safe and convenient payment solutions in Qatar.”
