Discover Financial Services has enhanced its Discover Cashback Debit product with new features, benefits and card design.

The new Freeze It capability allows customers to temporarily freeze their debit card to prevent both new purchases and ATM transactions.

In addition, Discover card holders will now be able to automatically transfer the earned debit card cash back bonus to their eligible Discover savings account and pay using the card.

Apart from new design, the debit cards also include chip technology to offer better security for transactions at store terminals and ATMs.

Discover vice-president for deposits Arijit Roy said: “We are continually looking for ways to tailor our products to our customers’ wants and needs and provide them features that will help them conveniently save more.

“Cashback Debit already comes with no monthly fees while providing cash back for everyday purchases. The addition of auto redemption to savings is yet another way we are continuing to make saving easier for our customers.”
