Diebold, a US-based developer of automated teller machines (ATMs), has deployed six of its deposit automation-enabled Opteva ATMs and security solutions at Vantage West Credit Union’s new branch in Arizona.

The ATMs allow Vantage West members to perform transactions on their own. Users can perform envelop-free deposits, and can insert cash and cheque into the ATM and follow instructions to complete the transactions, and receive detailed receipts with images of deposited cheques.

Vantage West branch vice president and regional manager Jamie Hernandez said with members managing many transactions on their own, their representatives will have more time to help those members requiring additional services.

“We’re delivering more personalized service, while also promoting efficient self-service banking, to enhance members’ experiences in an open, inviting branch,” Hernandez added.

The company is also inviting members of other credit unions to perform transactions through a CO-OP NextGen ATM shared branching terminal that works on Diebold’s Agilis software, for gaining access to their accounts from the branch.

Diebold North America operations vice president Mychal D Kempt said Vantage West has consistently adopted advanced solutions to improve member services.

“From deposit automation to a tellerless branch to shared branching at the ATM, the credit union is transforming its branches into more efficient environments for members. This type of technology will allow the credit union to differentiate themselves within the marketplace,” Kempt added.
