Danish payment institution and acquirer Clearhaus is set to provide Apple Pay, a mobile payment and digital wallet service, for its more than 5000 webshop merchants in the Nordic region.

Available for in-store and online use, the mobile payment platform is powered by Visa and Mastercard secure tokenisation and biometric identification technology.

Apple Pay was originally launched in Sweden, Denmark and Finland during the fourth quarter of 2017, bringing contactless payment option to the region through various banks such as Nordea, Jyske Bank, Edenred, N26 and ST1.

Clearhaus CEO Claus Christensen said: “The emergence of mobile-friendly payment technology like Apple Pay proves that consumer behaviour is changing – and webshops will need to adapt quickly.

“It’s an easy, secure payment method, with the fastest checkout in the market today. That’s why we have cooperated with our partner, QuickPay to bring Apple Pay to over 5,000 webshops in the Nordics.”
