DBS has introduced two new payment cards, Chromo and TravelLah!, aimed at spending habits and preferences among Gen Z customers in Singapore.
The Singapore-headquartered lender stated that both products are designed to help young adults “maximise rewards” on daily spending and “get more value” when they spend overseas.

DBS launched Chromo on 5 September. It described Chromo as the first credit card in Singapore designed to “automatically adapt” to the spending habits of Gen Z customers.
The card provides bonus cashback on a customer’s top two eligible local spending categories each month, removing the need for cardholders to pre-select categories.
DBS Singapore Payments and Unsecured Lending head Chan Sow Han said: “Young adults in their 20s are navigating one of the most dynamic stages of their lives, often marked by shifts in income, interests and financial priorities.
“They therefore need a card that can mirror their ever-changing lifestyle and enable them to maximise their rewards based on where their spending is trending.
“With Chromo, we are turning the traditional card rewards model around. Instead of asking cardholders to decide upfront where they expect to spend, Chromo does the work for them and automatically awards bonus cashback based on where they spend most each month.”
Chromo cardholders can continue using the card after turning 30, with the existing rewards structure retained for three months.
From the fourth month after their 30th birthday, customers can choose either 1.7% cashback or 1.3 miles per SGD 1 on eligible local spend, with no minimum spend and no rewards cap.
The second product, TravelLah!, is scheduled to launch on 13 September.
DBS is positioning it as a travel debit card available from age 16. It is intended for younger customers who may not yet qualify for a credit card, as well as those seeking a debit option for overseas spending.
TravelLah! allows overseas spending with zero foreign exchange fees, using Visa exchange rates with no additional mark-up from DBS. DBS fees for overseas ATM withdrawals will be waived, with no cap on withdrawal amount or frequency, although fees imposed by overseas ATM operators may still apply.
The card can be used to pay in more than 150 currencies. Customers can also view indicative exchange rates in the DBS PayLah! app before spending.
TravelLah! includes a dedicated TravelLah! Debit Card Wallet within DBS PayLah! that is held in Singapore dollars. DBS indicated that this is designed to remove the need to pre-convert currencies.
