German payment service provider Computop has launched the latest version of its payment platform Computop Paygate with several new features and improvements.

The Computop Paygate Version 7.0 incorporates fraud prevention technology. A machine learning algorithm calculates probability of fraud for each transaction based on previous transactions.

The continuous expansion of the decision basis for transactions will enable the platform to learn and optimise its calculations on a daily basis.

Computop has also added data analysis to the new version, where geodata facilitates transaction evaluation for merchants. Other data sources are also integrated to enhance the analyses.

In addition to point-of-sale (POS) and e-commerce payments, the Paygate Version 7.0 will also support the girocard network being developed by Computop.

The new platform comes with an API designed to enable merchants to automatically delete customer-related data upon customer request. However, it retains transaction-related data anonymously for analysis.

Furthermore, Computop added new international payment methods and acquirers such as Swish, Calixa, Nordea, b4payment and TOTAL fuel card.

Commenting on the enhancements, Computop said: “Delivering over 250 payment methods, more than 50 acquirer connections, providing protection against fraud and supporting many other payment transaction services, Computop Paygate has become the central interface for international e-commerce merchants and at the POS.”

The German company’s portfolio comprises omnichannel payment processing and fraud prevention solutions. Computop Paygate is designed to process integrated e-commerce payments at POS as well as on mobile devices.
