Chase, the US consumer and commercial banking business of JPMorgan Chase, has launched a new feature to allow customers send gift cards using its mobile app or website.
Customers will be able to choose from more than 60 retail companies to send gift cards.
App users can send gift cards starting from $5 to $100 by clicking on Gifting in the app menu directly to the recipient’s email address.
The recipients can retrieve the card directly from their inbox and redeem the same during the checkout process by scanning barcode or entering online code.

Customers can also schedule the gift cards to be sent reducing the scope of forgetting important events like birthdays.
The feature also allows customers to view the lending history and keep a track of amount sent.
Retailers participating in this feature include Panera Bread, AMC Theaters, Sephora, The Home Depot and Starbucks.
Chase head of digital payments Prashant Gandhi said: “Our digital gift cards make it more personal than sending a person-to-person payment. You can add a short message, too.”
Chase provides financial services such as mortgages, financial services, credit cards amongst other services in the US.
Chase, which has $2.7 trillion in assets, operates nearly 5,000 branches, 16,000 ATMs.
