Chase has partnered with Visa to offer contactless payments cards for its customers in a bid to enable rapid, easy and secure checkout.

The roll out, set to begin over the coming months, will be carried on an ongoing basis. Chase customers having cards up for renewal or opening a new account will receive the contactless Visa cards.

Initially, the Chase contactless Visa cards will be available for Chase Freedom Unlimited and Chase Slate customers. Chase plans to bring the tap-to-pay functionality to all its Visa credit cards by the first half of next year.

During the second of next year, the capability will be extended to Chase debit cards.

The bank said that the Chase contactless Visa cards will come with EMV Chip technology to ensure reduced risk of counterfeit fraud.

Chase Card Services president of card marketing, pricing and innovation Abeer Bhatia said: “Tapping to pay will help speed our customers through checkout with the ease and confidence of paying with Chase.
