CardFlight, a mobile point of sale (PoS) technology provider, is set to launch the Swift B200 and Swift B250, a new series of mobile cards readers for merchants of all sizes, at ETA TRANSACT 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Based on Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity, the card readers will allow merchants to accept secure EMV and NFC contactless payments on Android and iOS devices. Both devices will feature Quick Chip for faster transaction.
CardFlight is one of the first mobile payment solution providers to support Consumer Device Cardholder Verification Method (CDCVM), a type of verification method supported by the card networks for transactions originating from mobile devices.
The Swift B200, which accepts both EMV chip card and magnetic stripe payments, enables merchants to accept payments by connecting via Bluetooth Low Energy to a smartphone or tablet operating on CardFlight’s SwipeSimple mobile point-of-sale software or using CardFlight’s software development kit.
The Swift B250 card reader, which also supports EMV and magnetic stripe cards, empowers merchants to accept NFC contactless payments and mobile wallets such as Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay.
CardFlight founder and CEO Derek Webster said: “CDCVM means an easier payment experience for consumers and a more secure transaction for merchants with less risk of fraud.
“CardFlight is proud to be an industry-leader in enabling secure technologies like CDCVM on mobile POS solutions. The new Swift B200 and B250 include a broad suite of secure and market-leading technologies, including EMV, NFC, Quick Chip, CDCVM and Bluetooth Low Energy.”
Both the Swift B200 and Swift B250 devices are currently in certification, and the devices shipment to partners will commence in late summer 2017.
