Bottomline Technologies has added an AI-enabled chat support to its payment solutions for Paymode-X and PTX customers.

The chat support system is powered by Drift, a conversational marketing platform used by B2B companies. Its artificial intelligence technology is designed to enable pertinent conversations and meeting customer requirements.

The system will provide Paymode-X and PTX customers with real-time support and make sign up and accessing even easier.

In North America, the chat system will offer live support for businesses selecting digital payment option by virtual card and ACH through Paymode-X.

Bottomline’s PTX customers in Europe can access the facility to receive customer support during and after work hours.

Bottomline Technologies vice-president of strategy & product Bill Wardwell said: “At Bottomline, we are always looking for innovative ways to delight our customers with world-class service.

“By providing AI-driven chat support, we’re interacting with customers in the way they have grown accustomed to in their consumer lives, addressing questions in real-time, and accelerating business results.”

The paytech firm first introduced Drift through its website in July last year. Since then, the service has carried out around 7,000 chats.

Bottomline Technologies works to simplify and secure complex business payments. The company counts corporations and banks as its customers enabling domestic and international payments for them.

The company also offers cash management, automated workflows for payment processing, bill review, fraud detection and behavioural analytics services.

Recently, Bottomline launched a new module to streamline the business-to-business payments process.
