BNP Paribas and Hello bank! add support for Apple Pay in France

BNP Paribas and its digital direct bank brand Hello bank! are offering mobile payment platform Apple Pay to its customers in France.

Apple Pay does not store the actual card numbers on the device or its server.

Rather, it allots a unique device account number that is stored on the device following encryption.

Apple Pay transactions are authenticated through a one-time unique dynamic security code.

The payment platform can be used by users of iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and later models, and Apple Watch.

Customers can carry out online shopping in apps and on websites accepting Apple Pay using the Touch ID or Face ID feature.

Users can avail all these features on Apple Pay while continuing to receive the rewards provided by credit and debit cards.

Moreover, Apple Pay is said to be easy to set up.

BNP Paribas French Retail Bank head of cash management and payment solutions Marc Espagnon said: “BNP Paribas is actively contributing to the development of mobile payment solutions in Europe, particularly in France, and we are pleased to bring our customers the broadest range of innovative and secure services, which includes Apple Pay, to simplify their online and in-store purchases.”

Three months back, BNP Paribas made Apple Pay available for its customers in Belgium.
