BBVA Compass, a US banking franchise, has introduced a new credit card custom-made for NBA fans across the nation.

Dubbed as BBVA Compass NBA American Express Card, the new offering will be the first to bear global NBA brand and will expand the company’s digital product portfolio.

With this card, customers can personalize their cards with the logos of their favourite NBA teams as well as earn points redeemable for statement credits, NBA merchandise and exclusive NBA experiences via a NBA TripleDouble Rewards Program.

In addition, customers can earn double points for transactions at gas stations and supermarkets, triple points for qualifying NBA-related purchases and five times the points for card uses coinciding with NBA All-Star and the NBA Finals.

Supported by a cross-platform digital campaign, the new launched card aims to expand the bank’s presence across the country by tapping into basketball fans’ passions for the NBA and its 30 teams.

Last month, BBVA Compass teamed up with American Express and the NBA to unveil a new credit card partnership in New York.

BBVA Compass chief marketing and client experience officer Jennifer Dominiquini said: "NBA fans can express their team affinity each time they make a purchase with the card. And by using it during the upcoming NBA Finals, they get five times the points, accumulating rewards points even quicker."
