Barclays has introduced the new Arrival Premier World Elite Mastercard credit card targeting traveller needs.

The card is designed to offer loyalty bonus every year in the form of the company’s rewards points called miles, along with other benefits associated with the World Elite Mastercard programme.

Cardholders are eligible for 25,000 loyalty bonus miles on $25,000 spending and unlimited two-fold miles on all purchases, amounting to a total of 75,000 miles on $25,000 worth of payments.

The earned miles can be transferred to associated travel loyalty programmes such as Japan Airlines, Air Qantas, Malaysia Airlines, China Eastern, EVA Air and Jet Privilege.

The card comes with international chip and PIN capability and it does not charge any fee for foreign transactions.

Barclays managing director of US branded card business Rachana Bhatt said: “Barclays Arrival Premier is unlike any product we’ve offered – we’re rewarding loyalty and making those rewards last.

“We found that consumers don’t want to constantly juggle or open and close cards to get the most value, so we’ve created a card for life.

“Our simple approach to earning miles, with loyalty bonuses available each year, makes it easy to turn every purchase into valuable miles that pay for your next getaway.”

The Mastercard programme provides additional benefits such as its Airport Experiences platform delivered by LoungeKey with ‘pay-as-you-go’ access to more than 850 lounges, all-time assistance via Mastercard Global Service and ID Theft Protection, among others.
