Barclaycard US, the payments division of Barclays in the US, has named Curt Hess as its new CEO.

Hess, who has been serving as the company’s interim CEO since May 2015, will report to Barclaycard Interim CEO Amer Sajed in the new role.

Hess has over 25 years of experience in credit cards, finance, treasury, retail banking, consumer lending, risk and control. He has been with Barclays for eight years.

Most recently Hess served as Barclays’ CFO for personal and corporate banking in London.

In addition, he also held the position of CEO and CFO at Barclays Europe Retail and Business Banking, CFO at Barclays Africa Retail and Business Banking as well as CFO for Barclaycard.

Before his stint at Barclays, Hess held executive roles in the US at Citi and Bank of America.
