Supermarket ASDA has launched a credit that offers shoppers interest free for six months if they spend at least £200 with ASDA Direct, the grocer’s online shopping site.

The card comes with 14.9% APR variable and a credit limit of £1,200.

Kirsty Ward, head of Asda Money, said: "Our customers rightly expect great value and great quality and that’s exactly what we are offering at Asda Money."

Other features of the ASDA Money Credit Card are 0% on balance transfers with a £50 minimum for 12 months, 1% cashback on ASDA shopping and at ASDA Petrol stations, 0.5% cashback with other retailers, no annual fee, and contactless payments.

The payment processing company for the ASDA Monet Credit Card is MasterCard, allowing customers residing in or visiting London to take advantage of the Priceless Cities rewards programme.

The card is provided by Creation – which also provides credit cards for Selfridges, and Marriott – a brand of LaSer UK, a financial services company.
