Accumulate, a Swedish mobile payment systems provider, has revealed it is filing a lawsuit for patent infringement against rival company Seamless.
According to Accumulate, at the centre of the dispute, filed at the District Court of Stockholm, is Seamless’ mobile payments solution, ‘SEQR’.

In a statement, it said: "Accumulate requires Seamless to stop the use and marketing of SEQR".
It maintained that "significant efforts over a long period to negotiate with Seamless" had been unsuccessful, and that Seamless "has not been willing to co-operate".
The two firms are competitors in the market for mobile device point of sale (POS) payment systems.
Accumulate boasts a wide international portfolio of patents, with the alleged infringement relating to a patent in Sweden.

According to a statement by Accumulate, 50,000 merchants utilize the first company’s system, compared to around 3,000 SEQR users.
