Payment and identification solutions provider ABnote and MeaWallet, a Norway-based provider of cloud-based payment services, have expanded their previously-disclosed strategic partnership to bring open loop mobile wallet solutions to Mexico, Central America and South America.
On 10 August 2015, the two firms announced the full integration of MeaWallet’s cloud-based mobile payment platform into ABnote’s EMV payments platform. The integration is now fully implemented.

Having joint market opportunities and customer projects identified in Mexico, Central America and South America, ABnote and MeaWallet have broadened their alliance to include exclusive distribution rights to ABnote for the region.
The MeaWallet platform will provide an interface layer for ABnote’s wallet solutions that will enable the customers to utilize services like loyalty, coupons and more in a mobile wallet apart from payment services.
This deal will also allow existing and new customers to add branded mobile wallets and cloud-based digital mobile payment cards to their portfolio of card products.
Designed to initially support MasterCard and Visa cloud based mobile payment schemes, the open loop mobile will be accepted for contactless and remote payments at merchants across the world accepting these schemes.
