Bitcoin startup 21 Inc has introduced micropayments marketplace that will enable buyers and sellers to trade in digital goods using micropayments.

The newly launched 21.co Micropayments Marketplace is currently available to the users of 21 Bitcoin Computer, the company’s bitcoin mining and micro-transaction device. Others will be able to access the marketplace soon.

The company said that the platform specifically addresses two quantifiable developer "pain points": the cost for buyers to sign up and pay for an API, and the cost for sellers to publish and receive payment for a new paid API.

The platform has rolled out six apps on the service, which includes Social Sentiment Analysis, Zip Code Data, Twitter Influence Ranking, Part of Speech Tagger and others.

21 Inc said: "Even with these limitations, we think the 21 micropayments marketplace is an important step towards making digital currency useful for developers."
